North Fraser Music Festival

The BCRMTA Coquitlam/Maple Ridge Branch presents the North Fraser Music Festival every spring. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for our students to perform prepared repertoire, and to receive verbal and written feedback from a highly qualified adjudicator in a friendly and non-competitive atmosphere. At the end of the performance, each student is awarded with a Gold, Silver, Bronze, or participation certificate. During the Honours Concert, the performers are presented with a medal for their achievement. Scholarship awards are generously contributed by participating teachers, and are then presented to the adjudicators choice students in Junior, Intermediate and Senior categories.

The North Fraser music Festival began in 2002, and with continued growth and popularity has now over 350 entries in 2015. The Festival is held at Hyde Creek Community Church, 2145 Nova Scotia Avenue in Port Coquitlam. Some of our past adjudicators have included Dr. Corey Hamm, Dr. Terrance Dawson, Ellen Silverman, and Catherine Bundt.
