Doris was born in Hong Kong and had her early musical training there. After she moved to Canada, she continued her piano study and obtained Associate in Music from Conservatory Canada. She then studied music in University of Alberta, graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree.
Recently she also completed the RCM Teaching Intermediate Piano course. Doris believes that a good teacher needs to be a learner as well. She frequently upgrades herself by taking pedagogy courses and workshops. Doris has studied with Dan Morin, Alexandra Munn, Ernest Lejano and Helmut Brauss in the past, all these teachers had inspired her to become a passionate music teacher.
Doris teaches piano and theory from her home studio in Burnaby. She is fluent in Chinese and English. She likes to work with school aged students.
