I have had the joy of teaching piano for over 20 years and am an active member of the BC Registered Music Teacher Association. I teach students of all ages and abilities.

Along with a Bachelor of Music in piano performance, I have many years experience as an accompanist and as a church musician. As well, I have extra pedagogy training through The Gorin Institute which has enabled me to work confidently with young beginners to build a strong technical and artistic foundation within them.

Although my studio is largely focused on classical training, popular music and reading lead sheets is also an important part of my teaching.

Music goals differ between students with some preferring exams and music festivals, and others who choose to focus on learning without these pressures. Regardless of the focus, I always expect students to progress and improve. The three recitals I host during the year allow students to get to know their peers and gain confidence in performing.

Beyond musicianship, I want to help students develop focus, work habits and integrity in their work. For me, the most rewarding part of teaching is seeing students develop their ability to play the music they come to love and appreciate.
